My Coffee!

March 6th, 2009

I think everyone knows “I LOVE my coffee”!  It’s the first thing I grab when I get up in the morning.  Years ago when I was young (we won’t talk about how long ago that was) I would sit at the kitchen table at breakfast and watch my parents drink coffee for breakfast.  I use to tell my parents how nasty it smelled and tasted and that I would NEVER drink coffee.  My Grandmother use to tell me to be careful what you say you wouldn’t do, because you would usually end up doing it.  Grandma was usually right!

Years later when I decided to go back to college and get a degree in Computer Technology I found a love and a NEED for coffee.  I was going to college full time during the day, working 30 hours a week on campus for the college, working a full time job at night and a part time job on the weekends.  I had a 45 minute drive each day both ways to work and/or college 7 days a week.  I didn’t have time for much sleep so me and coffee became best friends.  I have drank it so long now it really doesn’t do much for keeping me awake now, I just enjoy the flavor of it.  I can drink it up to the point of laying down in bed at night and go right to sleep.

Am I picky about my coffee, YES!  I can actually drink it without creamer, but I have a love for “French Vanilla”.  I buy “French Vanilla” flavord coffee and top it off with “French Vanilla” creamer.  I’m not into really strong coffee.  My husband, Lonnie, tells me I brew “see through” coffee.  That’s okay, he don’t drink much of it anyway, maybe 2-3 cups a week.  He loves Cajun brewed coffee, you know the kind where they fill the entire coffee filter with grounds!  YUCK!  BBBRRR!  I love “French Vanilla Cappuccino” also.

I have a really bad time with staying dehydrated and my doctor told me I needed to drink more water, at least six 8 oz glasses per day.  I told him I drank at least 3 times that much already, it just happens that it has coffee in it.  He didn’t think that was very funny.

My coffee is tied in with my thought process.  When I am working on a computer program, designing a website, working with graphics, reading my bible, etc., my coffee cup is right there with me.  It’s seems to be part of my process of thinking, kind of like a baby has their security blanket.

Everyone I work with laughs at me because I keep loosing my coffee cup.  Remember those keychains you use to could by that all you had to do was whistle and it would beep so you could find your keys?  They really need to invent one for coffee cups!!  I’d be the first in line to buy one!

In essence, my coffee dependency that goes with my thought process is why the name of this website arose.  Brew designs.  I was sitting at my desk one day trying to come up with a name for my new website.  I was leaned back in my chair, coffee cup in hand and it hit me.  I was trying to “brew” up different ideas!  Hence “Brew Designs”.

I hope you enjoy my new website as much as I enjoyed designing it.  It’s a work in process and a lot of stuff has not even been added yet.  You need to book mark it and check it out often.  I have a lot of GREAT things that will be happening on it!  Until then, please enjoy my favorite music list, my wish list and the MUST SEE movie!

Till then…Cheryl
